WFLA Daytime Channel 8
During my internship at the NBC affiliate, WFLA Daytime Channel 8, I had the privilege of gaining valuable experience in both pre-recorded and live interview settings.
In addition to my primary responsibilities of operating the teleprompter and camera during the production of our program, my role expanded to include several other crucial tasks. One of the exciting aspects of my job was guest starring in Christmas segments for giveaway items. I had the opportunity to engage with our audience and create memorable holiday moments, contributing to the overall spirit of our Christmas-themed episodes.
Furthermore, I took on off-site assignments as part of my role. This involved traveling to various locations to cover special events, conduct interviews, and capture compelling footage.
Additionally, staying current and relevant was a top priority for our program. To achieve this, I actively participated in searching for trending topics and staying updated on the latest news and developments. This involved monitoring social media trends, following news sources, and engaging in discussions to identify subjects of interest to our audience. By doing so, I contributed to the show’s ability to stay ahead of the curve and address topics that were top of mind for our viewers.
I had the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with the guest stars, both prior to and following their recorded interviews, thus affording me a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies inherent to professional growth within the media industry. This internship proved to be a truly enlightening experience.
